Migration does not automatically mean redesign

A website can be migrated without fundamentally changing its design.

Website Migration

The main goal is controlled transfer between systems or technical configurations.

Website Redesign

The main goal is improving structure, experience and interface.

Sometimes the two make sense together.

For example, if the platform is being changed because the existing one no longer supports the website properly, certain experience improvements may also be efficient to implement at the same time.

But we do not automatically turn every migration into a redesign project.

Sometimes the website can be moved almost unchanged to a different infrastructure.

In other cases, the source and target platforms are different enough that certain components need to be rebuilt.

If reconstruction becomes so extensive that the project is effectively a new website, we say so clearly.

We do not call a complete Website Design & Development project a “migration” simply because an older site already exists.
