Introduction

This Cookie Policy explains how Unified Systems uses cookies and similar technologies on unifiedsystems.ro.

These technologies may be used for technical operation and website security, remembering consent choices, measuring website usage, analysing performance and measuring or optimising advertising campaigns.

Not all technologies described in this policy are active at all times and not all of them necessarily use a traditional cookie file.

What are cookies

Cookies are small files or pieces of information that may be stored on a user device when a website is accessed.

They may allow the website or integrated providers to recognise certain information about a session, device, preferences or interactions.

Some cookies are necessary for a service to operate, while others are used for measurement, analytics or advertising.

04

Cookies and similar technologies

The term cookies is used broadly in this policy and may include traditional cookies, local storage, session storage, technical identifiers, pixels, tags, SDKs, advertising identifiers and other technologies that store or access information on a device or enable measurement of interactions.

Analytics V1 includes Meta Conversions API as a server-side flow limited to the `Contact` event. This mechanism does not store cookies on the device, but may receive existing Meta browser identifiers only after Advertising consent.

05

Legal framework

Cookies and similar technologies are used in accordance with applicable legislation concerning electronic communications privacy and personal data protection.

Consent is requested for storing or accessing information on a user device where applicable law requires it.

Technologies strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user or indispensable technical operation may be used without consent within the limits permitted by law.

06

Categories and consent

Unified Systems separates technologies used on the website into functional categories.

Necessary
Technologies indispensable for operation, security, remembering cookie choices and supplying certain requested services. The Necessary category remains permanently active.
Analytics
Technologies used to measure website usage, understand performance and identify experience issues. They remain disabled until consent is expressed.
Advertising
Technologies used for campaign measurement, conversion attribution, advertising optimisation and, where applicable, advertising audiences. They remain disabled until consent is expressed.

The Preferences button in the banner opens the configuration panel. Preferences is not currently a separate cookie category.

07

Strictly necessary technologies

The Necessary category remains permanently active. Strictly necessary technologies operate only to the extent that they are indispensable for basic operation, security or delivery of requested services.

They may be used, where applicable, for:

  • security and abuse prevention;
  • technical session operation;
  • remembering consent choices;
  • indispensable website functionality;
  • technical flows required for purchase and payment.

The Necessary category cannot be disabled through the preferences panel where the relevant technology is genuinely indispensable for operation or delivery of the requested service.

08

Analytics

The Analytics category is used to understand how the website is used and to improve content, navigation and experience.

This category may include Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity.

Analytics remains disabled until the user provides consent by choosing Accept all or explicitly enabling the category in the Preferences panel.

Rejecting Analytics does not prevent normal access to website content.

09

Advertising

The Advertising category is used for measuring campaign results, attributing conversions, optimising advertising and, where configuration and law permit, using advertising audiences.

In Analytics V1, this category includes Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API. Google Ads is not active.

Advertising remains disabled until the user provides consent by choosing Accept all or explicitly enabling the category in the Preferences panel.

Rejecting Advertising does not prevent normal access to the website.

10

Unified Tracking

Unified Event Core is the first-party technical layer, known as Unified Tracking, that standardises 21 canonical in-browser events generated by interaction with the website.

The 21 contracts cover page views, interactions, traffic sources, campaigns, commercial actions and the Unified Advisor flow. Advisor text, intent and WhatsApp URLs are excluded from the payload, and generating a Unified event does not automatically transmit it to an external provider.

CONSENT BOUNDARY

Unified Tracking is not used to bypass the user choice. Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity may operate only with Analytics consent, and Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API only with Advertising consent.

Strictly technical or security components may operate independently where consent is not legally required.

11

Google Tag Manager

Google Tag Manager is the management layer for Analytics V1 tags and technical measurement integrations. GTM Version 2 respects the independent consent categories and does not activate non-essential tags before the corresponding consent is provided.

Google Tag Manager does not automatically make every technology managed through it strictly necessary.

The configuration uses Google Consent Mode v2 Basic. Analytics and Advertising are OFF by default, and non-essential signals and tags remain denied or inactive until consent for the corresponding category is provided.

12

Google Analytics 4

Google Analytics 4 is the Analytics V1 provider for measuring traffic, visit sources, interactions and website performance when the Analytics category is accepted.

Information may include technical identifiers, device and browser information, pages viewed, events, traffic source and other parameters required for measurement.

Google Analytics 4 is classified as Analytics, is OFF by default and is not loaded without the corresponding consent. According to Google documentation, the standard web implementation may use the first-party `_ga` cookie; the identifier is not stored while `analytics_storage` is disabled.

13

Microsoft Clarity

Microsoft Clarity is the Analytics V1 provider for understanding website interactions and identifying usability or experience issues, with the Balanced configuration.

Clarity may process information about pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, interactions and technical device characteristics. Microsoft documentation confirms the first-party `_clck` and `_clsk` cookies; Microsoft third-party technologies may also operate depending on actual service behaviour.

Microsoft Clarity is classified as Analytics, is OFF by default and is not loaded without the corresponding consent.

14

Google Ads

Google Ads is not activated and is not part of Analytics V1. Its inclusion in a distinct version for promotion, conversion measurement, attribution or optimisation constitutes a separate change subject to technical and legal review.

Any distinct configuration that includes Google Ads is classified as Advertising for non-essential processing.

Before any potential activation, the effective configuration, signals, transmitted data and need to update this policy must be verified.

15

Meta Pixel

Meta Pixel is the Analytics V1 Advertising provider for measuring conversions, attributing campaign results and optimising advertising on Meta platforms.

Meta Pixel uses a browser tag, network requests and technical identifiers when loaded. Names, domains and durations actually observed will be validated through the LIVE scan.

Meta Pixel is OFF by default and is not loaded without Advertising consent.

16

Meta Conversions API

Meta Conversions API transmits server-side only the `Contact` event for the four approved commercial sources and uses the same event_id as Meta Pixel for deduplication.

Transmission occurs only after Advertising consent and may include the sanitised URL, the real IP address and User-Agent and, where legitimately present in the browser, the `_fbp` and `_fbc` Meta identifiers. Missing values are not invented.

The Worker does not create cookies and does not store the IP address, User-Agent, `_fbp` or `_fbc` in raw form in D1 or application logs. The IP is processed transiently and reduced to a temporary HMAC digest for abuse prevention.

17

NETOPIA and the payment process

We use NETOPIA Payments for online payments.

During the payment process, NETOPIA may use its own technologies strictly necessary for security, authentication, fraud prevention and transaction processing.

Cookies or technologies placed directly by the payment provider are subject, where applicable, to the provider own policies and obligations.

We do not automatically classify every payment-provider technology as strictly necessary. Classification depends on the actual function of the technology.

18

Third-party providers

The website may integrate technologies supplied by third parties including Google, Microsoft, Meta and NETOPIA.

These providers may receive technical information and use their own technologies depending on the activated service, configuration and user choice.

Providers may change their technologies, cookie names, durations and infrastructure over time.

For this reason, the technical cookie register must be aligned with the actual website configuration and with a scan performed close to launch or after material changes.

19

Consent banner

Unified Consent Manager V1 presents three primary actions on the first visit without a valid stored choice:

Accept all
Enables the available non-essential categories, including Analytics and Advertising.
Reject all
Keeps only strictly necessary technologies active.
Preferences
Opens the panel where the user can manage non-essential categories separately.

Rejecting Analytics and Advertising does not condition normal access to website content.

20

Preferences panel

The Preferences panel allows the user to manage non-essential categories individually.

Necessary
Permanently ON and unavailable for disabling; technologies are used only where indispensable for operation of the requested service.
Analytics
OFF until the user explicitly enables the category or chooses Accept all.
Advertising
OFF until the user explicitly enables the category or chooses Accept all.

Simply opening the Preferences panel does not constitute consent for non-essential categories.

Non-essential choices are not treated as accepted through inactivity or by merely continuing to browse.

21

Changing or withdrawing your choice

The user may subsequently change the choice regarding non-essential categories through the cookie settings mechanism made available on the website.

Withdrawal of consent for Analytics or Advertising applies to future processing and does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

A valid choice is stored for 180 days unless changed or deleted earlier.

After withdrawal, the website must stop subsequent activation of technologies for which consent no longer exists, except technologies that may lawfully operate independently of consent.

Manually deleting cookies from the browser may cause the website to lose the ability to recognise a previous choice and request configuration again.

22

Technical inventory and duration

The necessary first-party mechanism confirmed in code is local storage under the `unified_consent_v1` key, used solely to remember the Necessary, Analytics and Advertising choices. The choice expires after 180 days unless changed or deleted earlier.

The documented external inventory includes `_ga` for Google Analytics 4 and `_clck` and `_clsk` for Microsoft Clarity. Google Tag Manager uses a temporary browser data layer and does not, by itself, represent persistent cookie storage. Meta Pixel may use browser storage and the `_fbp` and `_fbc` identifiers after Advertising consent; Meta Conversions API may receive those identifiers only where they legitimately exist.

LIVE VALIDATION

After an external provider is effectively activated and after material changes to the analytics or advertising stack, Unified Systems verifies through a LIVE scan the technologies actually present and aligns the technical register with the real configuration. This subsequent verification does not condition publication of this policy.

Domains and durations of external technologies depend on effective provider configuration and behaviour and are not stated until confirmed through the LIVE scan.

Changes independently introduced by providers may require subsequent updates to the register.

23

Relationship with the Privacy Policy

Where information collected through cookies or similar technologies constitutes personal data, its processing is also described in the Unified Systems Privacy Policy.

The Privacy Policy explains, among other things, data categories, purposes, legal bases, recipients, international transfers, retention periods and data subject rights.

This Cookie Policy complements the Privacy Policy by specifically describing storage, access and tracking mechanisms used on the website.

24

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when legislation, providers, website configuration, technologies or the consent management mechanism change.

The published version will indicate the date of the latest update.

Unified Consent Manager V1 is defined in code, and the Analytics V1 contract separates first-party events from consent-based transmission to external providers. The effective configuration and technical register are verified against this contract after each provider is activated.
